More than 650 participants gathered in Vilnius, Lithuania, on 7-8 October 2026 for #Disinfo 2026, an international conference organised by EDMO BELUX’s consortium partner, EU DisinfoLab. The event brought together researchers, policymakers, journalists, civil society organisations and other members of the counter-disinformation community to discuss current challenges and developments in the fight against disinformation.
EDMO BELUX took part in the conference with a dedicated stand, introducing the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO) network to new audiences, connecting with experts and exploring opportunities for collaboration. The event also provided a valuable opportunity to exchange with colleagues from across the EDMO network, including DE FACTO, BENEDMO, BRODHUB and EDMO Ireland.
The conference was also an opportunity to meet with colleagues from across the EDMO network, including DE FACTO, BENEDMO, BRODHUB and EDMO Ireland. Discussions covered past and upcoming elections and the exchange of insights, geopolitics and disinformation, as well as updates from the different communities. Colleagues also exchanged views on the wider role of EDMO in the disinformation and media literacy landscape, including resource sharing and opportunities for collaboration across the network.
