People across the world are increasingly concerned about misinformation, which is often blamed for numerous contemporary issues. In this talk, Dr. Sacha Altay will argue that claims about the prevalence and impact of misinformation can sometimes be overstated, suggesting that misinformation is primarily a symptom of deeper underlying problems. He will share insights and practical recommendations for enhancing the quality of our information environment.

Dr. Sacha Altay is a behavioural scientist working on misinformation, social media, and the news. He’s currently a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Zurich within the political science department and holds a PhD in cognitive science from the École Normale Supérieure in Paris.
