In a few years time, the amount of right-wing extremist channels on the Telegram message service has grown enormously in the Netherlands and Flanders. These chat groups spread conspiracy theories and are often influenced by US conspiracy theories such as QAnon and The Great Reset. This is the conclusion of UvA researcher Stijn Peeters, Tom Willaert and more, who mapped the network of Dutch-language extreme right-wing Telegram channels and analyzed a large number of messages. They recently published the results of their research in the scientific journal First Monday (which you can find on our research page).
