Trisha Meyer has been elected to the Executive Board of the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO).This appointment reflects Trisha’s longstanding commitment to strengthening Europe’s capacity to understand, monitor, and counter disinformation through research, collaboration, and evidence‑based action.

In this role, Trisha will serve as the official representative of the 15 EDMO Hubs, a network of regional multidisciplinary teams operating across Europe. These Hubs play a central role in EDMO’s mission by combining academic research, fact‑checking, media literacy, and policy expertise to address the complex challenges of the digital information landscape.

As the Hubs’ representative, Trisha will work to ensure that their priorities, operational insights, and regional perspectives are consistently brought to the attention of the Executive Board. This includes advocating forthe needs of the Hubs, facilitating dialogue between regional teams and EDMO leadership, and ensuring that strategic decisions made at the Board level are communicated clearly and promptly across the network.

The overarching goal of this role is to foster a shared vision among all Hubs, support a pragmatic alignment of operational priorities, and strengthen the collective impact of EDMO’s activities. By improving coordination and ensuring that regional expertise informs central decision‑making, Trisha’s mandate will help reinforce the coherence and effectiveness of EDMO’s Europe‑wide efforts.

The Executive Board itself plays a crucial governance role within EDMO. Its mission is to ensure coordination, vision, and coherence across all EDMO initiatives, from research and monitoring to capacity‑building and public engagement. The Board provides strategic direction, oversees the implementation of key programmes, and ensures that EDMO’s work remains aligned with its core mission: supporting a healthier, more resilient digital information ecosystem in Europe.

Trisha’s election to the Executive Board underscores the importance of strong representation for the Hubs and highlights the value of collaborative leadership within the EDMO community. Their experience and commitment will contribute to strengthening the network’s ability to respond to emerging challenges and to advance a unified, evidence‑based approach to tackling disinformation.

Trisha congratulates Anca Montoro (FACT hub) and Isabelle Wirth (HDMO) on their appointment as elected Hub Representatives and looks forward to the positive impact their leadership will bring to the network.
