[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Op 22 juni publiceerde CheckFirst hun laatste onderzoek<\/a> <\/span>waarin een enorme zwendel aan het licht kwam met meer dan 1500 Facebook-advertenties die gebruikers naar meer dan 160 domeinen lokten die valse mediasites hosten. De websites zouden bezoekers omleiden naar een formulier dat doet alsof ze persoonlijke informatie verzamelen om zich aan te sluiten bij een fictief investeringsplatform. Oplichters pushten een plan om snel rijk te worden en gebruikten social engineering-technieken om controle te krijgen over honderden Facebook-pagina’s van makers van inhoud die samen meer dan 10 miljoen gebruikers bereikten.<\/p>\n

Dit onderzoek maakt gebruik van gegevens die door CheckFirst zijn verstrekt aan EU DisinfoLab en EDMO Belux om zich te concentreren op de Belgische casus. Belgi\u00eb is een van de landen die betrokken zijn bij de misleidende campagne, die zich voordoet als zes nieuwsmediaorganisaties, waaronder Le Soir en De Standaard. De advertenties en misleidende artikelen waren gericht op het Belgische publiek en brachten valse getuigenissen over van nationale politieke figuren zoals Elio di Rupo en Alexander De Croo.<\/p>\n

De studie laat zien hoe de misleiding gericht was op Belgische verkooppunten, politici en publiek, evenals acties die kunnen worden ondernomen, rekening houdend met het kader van de Belgische wetgeving en de Digital Services Act (DSA).<\/p>\n
