EDMO BELUX 2.0 is committed to serving the diverse linguistic communities of Luxembourg and Belgium. Our mission includes providing fact checks, promoting media literacy, and conducting research in multiple languages. To best meet the needs of our audiences and make efficient use of our resources, we have established the following language policy:
Supported Languages
Primary Languages:
- French
- German
- Luxembourgish
These languages have been selected to ensure that our content is accessible to the majority of people in the communities we serve. We produce fact checks, educational materials, and research reports in these languages.
Additional Language:
- English
English will be used primarily for general information about EDMO BELUX 2.0 as well as for academic research. While we recognize the importance of English as a global lingua franca, we have decided not to publish fact-checking content in English. This decision allows us to focus our efforts on countering disinformation within the local linguistic communities of Luxembourg and Belgium.
Transition of Dutch Language Content
In the first generation of EDMO BELUX, content was also produced in Dutch. However, as BENEDMO specifically caters to the Dutch-speaking communities in Belgium and the Netherlands, EDMO BELUX 2.0 will no longer update or maintain Dutch language content. However, the Dutch-speaking outputs from EDMO BELUX 1.0 are still available in the archives.
