EDMO BELUX Network of experts 

Welcome to the EDMO BELUX Network of Experts page, a part of the EDMO BELUX 2.0 hub dedicated to strengthening ties between researchers, public institutions, media organizations and the public in the fight against disinformation in Belgium and Luxembourg. The network is part of EDMO BELUX 2.0 and an evolution from EDMO BELUX 1.0. It is designed to identify areas of expertise in fields vulnerable to disinformation among specialists in Belgian and Luxembourgish universities. This includes (but is not limited to) domains such as Belgian and Luxembourgish politics, European policies, health, climate change, legal matters and migration. 

Partners of EDMO BELUX have three objectives for the network 

• Expand and Consolidate the Network: we are committed to broadening our network by engaging more experts from diverse fields, enhancing our collective capacity to address disinformation. 

• Involve Experts in Detection and Analysis: our experts can be reached in the processes of correcting, and analyzing disinformation, ensuring that responses are both timely and accurate. 

• Promote EDMO BELUX Resources: We actively encourage the use of EDMO BELUX resources in educational, research, and policy-related activities, fostering a well-informed and resilient community.

Our network boasts a rich tapestry of expertise, encompassing key areas that are particularly susceptible to disinformation. Each expert brings is own knowledge and experience, contributing to a comprehensive understanding and effective mitigation of disinformation. 

Politics: Our political experts delve into the intricacies of Belgian and Luxembourgish politics, providing insights that are crucial for understanding and addressing political disinformation. 

European Policies: Specialists in European politics and institutions offer critical perspectives on EU-related disinformation, helping to navigate the complex landscape of European governance. 

Climate Change: Climate change remains a hotbed of disinformation. Our climate experts bring authoritative knowledge to dispel myths and present scientifically accurate information. 

Migration: Migration and minority policies are often distorted by disinformation. Our researchers in this field strive to present clear, fact-based narratives that counteract misleading information. 

Law and Legal Issues: Legal professionals in our network tackle disinformation from a legal perspective, addressing public law issues and enhancing legal literacy. 

Mobility and Sustainable Transitions: Experts in logistics, mobility, and sustainable transitions focus on debunking misinformation in these critical areas, promoting informed and sustainable practices.
